No More

With eyes facing West, I do it.
Quickly, quickly, thoughtless.
Sun setting into nothing,
rushing downwards again
never to rise.
To rest, yes, rest.
Darkness cries out, then is gone.
Get up! Get up! Get up!
Her voice or mine
No more
Getup! Getup! Getup!
Running running falling leap!
Leap into nothing
I’ll catch you!
Arms outstretched
turned away
Falling. Hard.
Nothing catches the fallen.
Nothing captures
Nothing keeps
“Nothing has you! You are safe!”
Is Nothing safe then?
Yes, Nothing has me!
Let it have me then!
GeddupGeddupGeddup!
No more!
Empty lies, this life I hold.
And after it?
Nothing!
Pieces tumbling,
tumbling on into water
Rushing past
Dead, forgotten, floating fast
Blind eyes perceive them
but thoughts will not touch.
You shrink away, are scared.
“Nothing will hurt you!”
Why should Nothing hurt me?

Silence.

I feel them in me now,
thrumming
Making heavy
Making cold.
No turning back now.
Should cowardly reason
endeavor to turn me
they will keep my eyes facing West.
Laughing
Running
Tumbling
Gone
ge’upge’upge’up!
No more!
